Natural Sea Sponge Care
Proper care of your sea sponge will help it last longer. The following care guidelines for Sea Sponges will help insure a long and useful life. 1. Before using the first time, rinse your new sponge thoroughly in fresh water, squeeze out water and let thoroughly dry in fresh air. 2. NEVER DRY YOUR SPONGE IN A MICROWAVE OR CLOTHES DRYER 3. Always let your sponge completely dry between uses. 4. Sea sponges contain natural enzymes that inhibit but do not prevent bacteria. To disinfect or clean your sponge periodically. Follow these recommended methods to keep your sponge happy.
A - Mix 1/4 cup water with 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide and soak for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly in fresh water and air dry. Or B - Mix 1 cup warm water with 1 tablespoon white vinegar and soak for 2 hours. Rinse thoroughly in fresh water and air dry. Or C - Mix 1 cup warm water with 1 tablespoon baking soda. and soak for 1 hour. Rinse thoroughly in fresh water and air dry.
5. NEVER USE BLEACH ON A NATURAL SEA SPONGE!
6. NEVER USE A CLOTHES DRYER OR MICROWAVE ON A SEA SPONGE!
