Seedlac range — workbench composition

Seedlac

Seedlac is shellac in its rawest form — the resin washed from the harvest and dried in open air, before any press, melt, or solvent. Every other grade we carry begins here. The natural wax and the warm, unaltered color are both still in it, just as the lac insect made them. It is the grade finishers reach for when they want to start one step earlier and control the cut, the filter, and the color themselves. The color runs from a light golden caramel to a deep red-amber.
