Ships from Waynesboro, Virginia.
A premium golden Kusmi button alongside our Super Golden — a top Aloke grade in a thinner button form. Delux Super starts from superior Kusmi sticklac, is sieved to a fine 6-mesh, and is triple-washed (the third pass run shorter), drawn from the fresh current-season crop. It lands in the same light, clean golden family as Super Golden, with one practical advantage at the bench.
The button is thin, and a thin button dissolves faster. If you cut fresh shellac often and would rather not wait on a standard button to go fully into solution, this is the one to reach for — the same refined Kusmi lac, quicker into the jar. The cured film sits in the warm golden tonal family of the premium button line.
Button lac is the historically authentic form of shellac — the one classical finishing texts describe. It is partially dewaxed in the traditional way, squeezed warm through cloth bags, which leaves roughly two to three percent of the natural wax in the structure. The buttons are produced in small cottage operations, weighed and packed one bag at a time.
Mixing notes: see the pound cut chart for dry weight per gallon, quart, and pint at the common working cuts.
